Veronica Taylor

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Veronica Taylor, who peacefully transitioned at TMC on December 18, 2025, at the age of 94, surrounded by her family and friends.

Veronica was born on October 11, 1931, in Kingston, Jamaica, the third of five children and cherished daughter of the late Hasman Rob Taylor and Alma Coleman Taylor. From an early age, she learned the values of faith, hard work, and service—principles that guided her throughout her life.

Deeply rooted in her Christian faith, Veronica cherished her Bible and found great joy in reading it and reciting Scripture. Prayer was central to her life; she prayed faithfully morning and night and never missed church unless illness prevented her from attending. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Veronica migrated to Tucson, Arizona, in 1978, where she continued her career as a seamstress. She was proudly employed at A & D Clothing Factory, where she worked diligently until her retirement. She loved her work and took pride in helping others through her skill and dedication.

Veronica was a very kind soul who found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved to cook, keep a clean home, and sing hymns of praise. She was especially gifted in reciting Bible verses from memory, often encouraging and uplifting those around her. Though she had no children of her own, she was a loving sister and aunt and a motherly presence to many, nurturing and guiding her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Florence Brown Sparkes, Pearline Agatha Taylor, and Agnes Merle Toomer.

Veronica is survived by her loving sister, Lelia Theresa Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives were blessed by her faith, kindness, and love.

Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in knowing she has completed her earthly journey and now rests in the presence of the Lord she faithfully served.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

"Memorial Service for Ms. Veronica Taylor will be held at Noon on Saturday January 24, 2026, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Rd. Tucson, AZ 85711."
