Pamela H. Sanborn

Pamela H. Sanborn (78) of Mesa, died April 4, 2025, after a gradual health decline. She is survived by her children, Keith and Sharon, as well as grandchildren. Pam was born in 1946 to Irene and Richard Hatchfield and grew up with her sister Diane in Easton, Massachusetts. Her family enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Duxbury. She received her bachelor’s degree at Smith College with a major in history. Pam married John Sanborn in 1968 and became a high school teacher while living in North Hampton. In 1973, they moved to Mesa, AZ, where they raised their children and lived until their deaths. Pam received her master’s in teaching and taught at the Osborn School District/Encanto from 1982-2005 in special education. She became a widow in 2000. Pam was an avid traveler; she saw all 50 states, all 7 continents, and almost every country in the world. She adored animals and volunteered thousands of hours fostering and working at the AZ Humane Society, Friends for Life, and AAWL. She treasured her pet cats Tuffy and Shadow. She had a passion for reading and enjoyed swimming in her pool. Pam was one of the original members of St. Matthew Methodist Church and attended every Sunday service possible along with bible groups. She loved her neighborhood where she took daily walks, picked up trash, petted the dogs, and talked to neighbors. Pam will be sadly missed but loved always and forever.

Memorial Service: Friday, 6/6/25, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Mesa. Please honor Pam with donations to the AZ Humane Society and Friends for Life.
