Joyce F. Misdom

Joyce F. Misdom passed away quietly at the age of 82 on Aug 19, 2026, due to complications with pneumonia.

Joyce was born in Provo, Utah on Jan 22, 1944. As the oldest child, Joyce and her four siblings lived, worked, and played on the family farm in Orem, Utah.

After high school she landed a job at a local bank. That was the beginning of a career that lasted over 30 years and would include working for banks in California and Utah.

From an early age Joyce developed a love of nature. She loved gardening and all kinds of animals, including birds, fish, and even reptiles. But her favorite animals, by far, were cats. She truly was a crazy cat lady. She loved everything about them and had many as pets throughout her life. That was what she was known for and was what she loved. She never missed a chance to see, pet, or hold one.

The last year and a half she lived in a care facility in Tucson, AZ. While there she made several close friends and they were always on her mind. We would like to thank the caregivers and residents that were there with her during that time. All of you meant so much to her.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father and mother (John and Amy), two of her brothers

(Johnnie and Jim) and her sister-in-law (Kathie). She is survived by her brother Dale (Doris) Fowers, her sister Beth (Chris) Fowers-Harrison, her son Lee (Jeri) Misdom and two grandchildren (Kaci and Matt).
