Jimmie Ray Wilson

Jimmie Ray Wilson went home to his heavenly father on July 29, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Snyder, Oklahoma in 1936 and moved to Tucson with his mother in 1939, almost a Tucson Native! As a child he was nicknamed "Jimmie from Windy Hollow" because he always had a "tall story to tell"! Jimmie graduated from Tucson High School in 1955, joined the United States Navy along with best friend Charlie Fickel in 1956. After leaving the Navy he worked various jobs and attended Pima College, on the G.I. Bill, acquiring a Fire Science Degree. Jim was employed with the Tucson Fire Department for 30 years, a job he really Loved!

Jimmie, in younger years was an avid bowler, great fisherman and loved racquetball, a water skier and proud of his cars! But most of all, he truly loved U of A Basketball!!

Jimmie was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Gallion (Gary). Survived by his wife Ann Wilson and son Darrick Wilson. Grandchildren Alyssa Gallion-English (Aaron) Bryce Gallion (Taylor) Madison Wilson & Danielle Bush. Great Grandchildren Leo Gallion, Emily Gallion and Benny Gallion. Niece Shawn Burdine (Todd), Great Nephews Cooper Burdine and R. J. Burdine Great Niece Sophia Burdine.

Jim will be missed by all who knew him and especially that special twinkle in his eyes when you knew he was up to something!!
