Charles Louis Charvoz

Charles Louis Charvoz, 72, passed away October 20, 2026, after living courageously with Alzheimer’s disease for several years. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Doris Roege Charvoz Wright, and by his father, Berkeley Louis Charvoz. Charlie was born in Harvey, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, in 1954 and his family moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1958.

Charles is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jodi Roark Charvoz, by their four daughters, Alison Charvoz Paradise (husband Luke), Emilie Charvoz Wessman (husband Matthew), Jennifer Charvoz Mast (husband Dustin), and Rachael Charvoz Parker (husband Jonathan), and two sisters, Candace Charvoz Frank (husband Andrew) and Cathy Charvoz Kerrey (husband Robert). Charlie was blessed with seven grandchildren, Audrey, Madeline, and Camilla Paradise; Adalynn Wessman, Kailey, and Cassidy Mast; and Thomas Parker.

Charlie was proud of his Chicago roots and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Most of all he loved Jesus. He “went forward” at an early age at First Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona with Rev. R.S. Beal, Sr., to accept Jesus as his Savior. Charlie graduated from Rincon High School in 1972 and competed on Rincon teams in baseball, football, and golf. He excelled in vocational classes, especially auto mechanics and woodworking. His first two years of college, Charlie attended Biola College in La Mirada, CA and developed a lifelong circle of friends. Charles transferred to the University of Arizona to complete his B.S. in Accounting. Charlie sat for the Certified Public Accountant exam and began his career in public accounting in the early 1980’s with Fox & Company in Tucson, AZ. Charlie was an accomplished tax, audit and fraud investigating CPA, “good with the numbers”, but especially passionate about his relationship with his clients and serving their specific needs. Charles practiced on his own and was a part of several different partnerships and firms in Tucson over the years. His final partnership was with R & A, CPAs.

Charlie was the “fun dad.” The family enjoyed road and camping trips. Charlie enjoyed cars, especially vintage British and drove a 1961 Austin Mini Cooper. Charlie got his private pilot’s license at Hudgin Air Service (HAS, Jodi’s mom’s brothers’ business) in the 1970’s and worked at HAS during high school. A friend introduced him to the sport of Handball in high school. This began a lifelong passion for the sport and several national titles for Charlie.

Charlie and family have been members of the Vineyard Christian Community for over 40 years. For many years, Charles has actively supported Young Life of Tucson. Charlie was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and friend to many. He is greatly missed, but we know we will see him again.
