In Loving Memory of Frances Marie Zipperian August 30, 1937 – January 16, 2025.
Frances Marie Zipperian, age 88, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Butte, Montana, to Charles and Frances Nakwas, who preceded her in death, along with her brother, Charles “Butch” Nakwas. Frances was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Edward Zipperian.
Their love story began years earlier while polka dancing at Luigi’s, an evening Frances would fondly recall with a smile and an eye roll whenever Don launched into one of his colorful stories. In the late 1960s, Frances and her family moved to Arizona, where she spent the remainder of her life. Family was always at the center of her world. She is survived by her four children: Donald, Daniel, Mary Beth, and David; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild, Nina.
Frances had a lively spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a gift for making memories. She loved crocheting and knitting blankets and doll clothes for her family, creating centerpieces and guest gifts for her children’s weddings, and hosting gatherings filled with laughter. She enjoyed bowling, boating, traveling, and trips to Mexico, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and her hometown of Butte. She was known for her playful side, whether pulling off memorable Christmas surprises, sharing stories that became family legends, or laughing at life’s unexpected moments. Frances also supported her husband’s work by helping entertain guests at the Arizona Copper Mining technical and trade shows during the 1970s and 1980s. Above all, Frances will be remembered for her warmth, humor, hospitality, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the memories she leaves behind.
