Ann Marie Obermeyer

Miss Ann Marie Obermeyer, 72, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on October 18th, 2025. She went peacefully in her home with her loved ones nearby and her two cats, Harold and Buzzsaw nestled by her hips like guardians. After a willfully long battle with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (M.M.N)/ A.L.S family, her mind body and spirit are at peace now. Throughout her struggles of the last 4 years, Ann heroically has carried her dignity with a contagious smile and stoic strength she was known to bare in life. Born February 19th, 1953, in Port Jervice New York to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Obermeyer and Genevieve (Kelly). Ann attended St Mary’s Catholic School, Port Jervice Highschool and then onto Orange County Community college, where she obtained her Associates of Sciences in Computer Technologies. Her career led her to become a guru of coding on mainframe computers as a Systems Program Analyst. She retired from the University of Arizona at the age of 65 and then, was able to embrace her most honored roll as Grannie Annie. Ann will be remembered for her unwavering devotion as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a dear friend. She was a *womyn that showed up in good times to share in laughter, relishing in celebrations as well as holding space during times of hardship. Listening with a nonjudgmental ear. Advising with compassion and forgiveness. Miss Ann Marie had a brilliant mind, emotional intelligence, street smarts she gained from her own trials and tribulations. Through everything she has experienced or survived, Ann learned to have the everlasting smile that would light up everyone’s heart. It will continue to carry on like ripples on an open body of water. In her later years, each and every Caregiver, Nurse, Dr. Specialist, Therapist and First Responders were permeated by that infectious smile. They would walk away the biggest grins; showing they were touched by her spirit. She was never sad or ever had a negative outlook. She thanked each and every person, each and every time, for each and every deed done. *intentionally miss spelled for an incredible independent womyn Some of her favorite times were family gathering, meals shared, and making memories. Getting together in her home, sharing in chatter. Where all would be welcome at her table. Anyone would be quickly tasked with dishes that server everlasting memories. She would keep us from being underfoot. That was her domain, that; was Anns Kitchen. Some of Anns’ favorite hobbies included walking, hiking, wire wrapping and visiting friends. She was an eco-conscious person. Ann was an avid blood donor of platelets. She gave of her time hours on end because it was the right thing to do. And for whatever her purpose was called to do; she chose. Years, she spent as a hospice volunteer. Each year she donated to local community food banks, animal shelters, and other world health organizations to care for those in need. Ann’s Greatest legacy is her family, she is survived by her devoted partner of 31 years, Todd Demanicor; her daughter Jessica Gray (Nathan) and Christine Badke (Peter); Her grandchildren; Kayla Lundquist-Chevas, Cody Gray, Melia and Jacob Badke-Chevas, Gavin and Bella Demanicor and Nathan Gray.
